Last week, children were introduced to Anna’s bear puppet when we read We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury. At the end of story time, Bear invited us all to join her next week for a tea party! We were instructed to bring a special “lovey” along. Children brought bears and babies to the party where we enjoyed lemonade and water with honey (it was too hot for tea!). As a group, we read The Teddy Bears’ Picnic.
Joslin Library’s new puppet invites us to a story time tea! Everyone can bring a special stuffy.
We practice pouring and turn-taking.
Surprise! G and her mom each have babies in their carriers. Lindsey’s baby is G’s little sister!
G poses with her baby from home
L cuddles her special baby
V shows us her special bear from home. It has a fanny pack.
P poses with Grizz, who is almost as big as he is!
A found an inchworm in the park. He is so excited and shares his discovery with everyone.
L asks for a turn with the inchworm
P shows us a crook in a tree that looks like the perfect spot for a nest. He begins building a “cup” style nest by carefully piling up dead grass. What great inspiration for next weeks story time focus!
